Tigah Year!

In 2007, I wrote “It’s better to be alone…it does take time to accept that reality is not always a bed of yummy Leche Flan shared with a friend, California Maki in 8 pieces, pretty pictures each with hundred smiles…Isolation has its advantages and I am starting to see that now…more time for God, my family and myself…”

The year after, 2008, I finally accepted the fact that everyone is growing up. People change. E=mc². It’s a constant we never have the power to stop. Live life to the fullest because if you become stagnant, you may accidentally close your door to opportunities that would come your way... A friend told me that the best way to move on is to make new memories…2008, I found new intelligent friends, I can oil paint, I don’t get stuck with same-banana-different-tree-or-shrub conversations, I wrote for a TV show and I FELL-IN-LOVE AGAIN…but this time…with challenge.”

2009, I again assessed how the year went by. And 2008 is the year that I made a list of crazy things to do. Every chapter of life is a journey in search of the unknown – call it whatever you want. This year is the year to grab opportunities and do something crazy – climb a water tank and drink up there and watch the stars – check, jump into the Jacuzzi “unprepared” – check, date someone 10 years older than me – check, shoot a commercial –check, contact a classmate that you used to spit fight with and haven’t seen for 14 years – check…etc and unmentionable are some (hi daddy!)…haha Not being afraid is the best way to find out what would give us the most fulfilling happiness we could ever experience. As a quote a friend/mentor, “Pu!#, you only live once, go lang ng go!”

And now 2010…Looking back, I am happy about how things turned out to be...I got great friends and finally a good job (after 4 months of vacation and partying…haha not good:P). 2009 was a very challenging year for me – Lots of drama perhaps, but I learned a lot of things also. Like for instance, stay away from people who dwell in drama just to make their life interesting. I once said that “You know, it’s not my fault my life is exciting…”. It would seem b-tc-y to some, but that’s the truth. You don’t go around dragging people down just to make your life seem…uhhh…normal? Exciting?! So anyway, living far from my family really pushed me to grow up. I don’t have a curfew! But sadly, no one cooks home-made meals for me alsoL I miss my home and my family and my friends and even the farm and my doggies and cheapass oysters. And Inasal…and perri todds and ok STOP…

Career-wise, it has always been a dream of mine to start my own events company in the City of Love, Iloilo. If I’m famous and rich enough, I’ll probably buy one of the Siete Picados and turn it into a mini-Boracay Island. Im far from that and I drifted farther from that dream when certain…“changes” happened. So yah…(awkward…haha). So for now, I’m having the time of my life working my-you-know-what-off. Work should make life better…so it is very important that one is in love with his/her job. (yeah, and I was able to go to Bora! And stand beside the STARS hahahaha see:

http://vlcartz.blogspot.com/2010/03/flogos-team-goes-to-boracay.html)

When it comes to my social life, I met a lot of people over the year…BUT not everyone stayed. Others are just for “inuman” sessions…others for networking, some…they are there but I know they hate my guts and what they really are after are just the men around me,…hahaha kidding! And 1% of the total are those who I can trust and tells me to stop drinking because seeing me wasted every night is not funny anymore. So hands down to to you guys…you know who you are!

Love life --- Please comeback next time. Page still under RENOVATION. Hahaha (it’s looking good? I dunno yet haha)

2010 is MY year. Over the years I learned that being too nice is also bad. People step on you, boss you around and always think that they can get away with it. It’s the year of the tiger and tigers are supposed to be brave, courageous and competitive.

Check this out! I got this from jas! Hahaha :

So yeah…everything is falling into place piece-by-piece.

Come on TIGERS! It’s our time to shine!:)

Hidden Emoticons? Yes?

The World Wide Web is the only means of communication for some - the only and cheapest way. Very helpful don't you think? However, sometimes, it also leads to misunderstandings...

So the other day, i was chatting with one of my bestest girlfriends...and she told me to check out this site;

http://messenger.yahoo.com/features/hiddenemoticons

I checked it out and got "aliw" with the hidden emoticons. Haha

Check it out guys! very interesting "codes" and I think this can help chatters express how they feel.

LOL.

Changing Lives

I am a busy person. Lately.

And lately, I have been hearing everyone say that they wanna go to Timbaland's Shock Value II Tour with Justin Timberlake and Jojo! I am not really updated on what's going on much nowadays because I am focused with work and well, yeah work. hehe

The other day, I decided to open my formal email- the one for the important stuff. Then there's this one mail that caught my attention...so I opened it and browsed through it...browse, meaning I did not really give much attention because I was doing stuff for work.

The mail started with:

"A message to all members of San Mig Light Bucket Room

Thank you for supporting bucket room! We would like to congratulate the following winners of two silver tickets each to the changing lives concert this Saturday, March 27."

I was about to X the window when I saw my name...I checked again. I was like "Hey, thats my name out there!!!!!"

So I asked out loud while standing up..."CHANGING LIVES CONCERT???".

Someone answered, "ahhh yung Christian christian."

I joked, "I think I need this if it's Christian Christian. But it's San Mig Light Bucket room thing!!!!!!"

Then someone said, "Ano ba kayo? Yan yung kay Timbaland!"

I stopped on my tracks and I have to double check. "Oh yeah! I won tickets! I even have to call someone to make sure that it was not a joke joke thing..."

AMAZING ISN'T IT? I was thinking...I wasn't that active in the website. I just joined to see whatsup-is-happening around!

I double-checked again in http://my.sanmiglight.com.ph/forum/topics/justin-timberlake-ticket-promo.

My name's there talaga!!!!

So if I were you guys, join the BUCKET ROOM! It's easy as 1-2-3.

1. Go to www.sanmiglight.com.ph.
2. click the tab bucket room.
3. SIGN UP!

The site is open for everyone! (Even for busy people like me!)

I didn't even have to do anything and I saw that list of winners. Really amazing right? Join the bucket room to get cool freebies and be updated on stuff! Moreover, you'll get a chance to meet really cool people, "See your friends in a different light!".

FLOGOS TEAM goes to BORACAY!

So... last Tuesday I talked to a good friend of mine from Taverna...and he gave me a contact from ABS-CBN! Whoah! I called the contact up and we set a meeting for the next day!

Wednesday, I got to talk to Miss Kate and Miss Joyce from ASAP and yes, they gave us an offer in exchange for Flogos services. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. THAT FAST??? and How are we going to bring the FLOGOS machines that fast to Boracay?

THURSDAY...
FRIDAY...

SATURDAY...5:40am...I found myself inside a plane...:) on the way to BORACAY!!!!!!

WHAT CAN I DO? Flogos Team is well trained...composed of smart and resourceful people:) So we can go anywhere! Just name it! haha:)

Galing ng Flogos Team no?:)

3:00 pm...The Flogos Teamm went to Fairways... We checked the place so we can find out where we can put the machines:)

SUNDAY...I WAS IN HEAVEN! hahaha Kidding! But yeah! I was seeing OUR Flogos! Flying! Yey! We had stars and palm trees and ASAP and MYX and ABS and CBN and a butterfly! It was so cool seeing the foams out there and people...famous people... running after the flogos!:)

Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby and Anne Curtis checking out flogos!
Miss Minela, Me and Miss Marvi, the EP of ASAP.
Flogos and ASAP Team and Lloydy!
More of the Flogos Team!

It was a really good experience for the team. It's good to see people in awe from staring at the flogos flying around! Artistas go jumping..literally JUMPING...just to try to touch the flogos. They were wondering what it was made of and they have lots of questions! But of course, Flogos team was more than glad to entertain the whats and hows.:)

(see :http://www.abscbn-asap.blogspot.com Slide 4)

On the more serious side of things, Flogos is a good marketing tool to introduce your brand/name. Sometimes, the only connection brands have with the market is their logo (even to those who does not belong to their market). So getting the services of Flogos can really help them. People are amazed when they see flogos and their first impulse is to check where and what the heck is that thing...they check the event out..and viola! They remember your logo and your brand! Flogos create excitement that no other marketing gimmicks can provide!

(see : http://vlcartz.blogspot.com/2010/03/its-not-bird-its-not-plane-its-flogo.html)

So again, back to my story... I only had one bottle of alcohol for the whole stay in the island. A trapal fell on my legs twice. I got sunburns - I'm so dark na. I lack sleep....Baduy noh?

But I will never trade the Flogos Boracay experience for anything else in the world.

I learned a lot.

I met people.

and ...I got a nice photo of Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd. :)

What could be better than that? I love my job...and I love Flloydy...I MEAN FLOGOS! hahaha

Dont settle for less. Creativity sells.

It's not a bird! It's not a Plane! It's a FLOGO!

Ok. I havent written for ages...because nothing is worth writing about (unless I write all the drama that has been happening in my life...but that won't be proper...hahaha)...

So last Monday, I turned 18...for the 7th time. :) hihi and I did not really celebrate my birthday 'coz I was busy with work...and yeah, work. I'm a workaholic now! (atleast not ALCOHOLIC!) I was hoping that I will be starting the week right because it was my birthday!

I was so tired and during my last meeting of the day...I was surprised to see people singing happy birthday and my officemate holding a big-ass cake! Well anyway...

Last week I was trying to look for the perfect person in ABS-CBN to talk to! We heard that ASAP is going to Boracay and there is also this trade and Myx thing there!

The reason why I need to talk to them is that maybe they would be interested in availing the services of Flogos!

To some which are not aware what a Flogo is...

FLYING LOGOS! FLOGOS!

What exactly is a flogo?

What is it made out of?

Flogos are synthesized from proprietary surfactant (soap) based foam formulations and lighter-than-air gases such as helium.

How long do they last?
On average, Flogos last for 30 to 40 minutes.

Our certified Flogo tech will place the Flogo machine in the optimum location. Flogos travel with the direction of the current wind flow, and the winds can change at higher altitudes. Flogos, however, are highly visible as they take flight to hundreds, even thousands, of feet and then travel for miles before evaporating.

How far and high can they travel?
Flogos can travel for 50km and float as high as 5000 feet. They fly slowly, so they are visible for a long period of time.

How long will it take to develop our Flogo?
Our in house Flogo art department will develop your Flogo stencil usually within the same day your order is placed.

Are they environmentally safe?
Flogos are Green and 100% environmentally safe (please reference our MSDS information in the Information section of the web site).
line

How many Flogos per minute can be produced?
With each Flogo machine, on average, one Flogo will be produced every 15 to 45 seconds, depending on the machine size and desired thickness. We recommend at least two machines for events, so Flogos will fly approximately every 7 to 25 seconds, again, depending on the machine size and desired thickness.

What sizes are the Flogos?
Currently, 36 inches. Because of the negative space sometimes required to successfully fly the Flogo (to hold it together), its final shape may be smaller in some cases. However, Flogos are also dimensional (thick). In the near future,we will have a custom 72 inch Flogo machine available.

Can I buy a Flogo Machine?
Flogo machines are only available for rent through our authorized Flogo dealers. Flogo machines are rented in blocks of time and are operated by a certified Flogo operator.

How do you transport the Flogo machines?
Due to the size and weight of the machines, they are transported by trailer. Each machine rolls on large air tires for easy movement.

Can Flogo events be performed inside?
Yes, Flogos can be used inside with very entertaining results. Generally, the higher the ceiling, the better the effect.

How long does it take to set up a Flogo event?
Flogo machines have been designed for the event industry so they are built into functional road cases. Set up and break down are both less than 30 minutes when performed by trained Flogo technicians.

Is it possible to change the Flogo stencil in one machine?
Yes, stencils can be changed out as many times as the client requests. We have performed events with multiple sponsors where several different custom Flogos have been flown concurrently. At these events, the stencils were typically switched out every 15 minutes, but we will accommodate your particular need.
